Canyoning opening at Ecouges basses

3 May 2023

Located in the Vercors massif in Isère, the Ecouges canyon is one of the most famous in France.
Open from May 1 to September 15 for the lower part, it’s a super canyon with lots of variety and numerous obstacles. We suggest that you take one or two sections of this fabulous descent.

The day begins with a meeting at our private parking lot in the commune of Rovon.
Only 30 minutes from Grenoble and 1 hour from Lyon.
After introductions, we’ll get kitted out with all the equipment needed for a smooth descent: harnesses, neoprene canyoning wetsuits, helmets and neoprene socks.
You’ll just need to bring your swimsuit, towel and sneakers.

Once you’re well equipped, we’ll set up the shuttle bus to access the upper parking lot, depending on the package you’ve chosen. For the full descent of the Ecouges, we’ll go to the Chabert bridge above the Ecouges tunnel. For the Ecouges basses canyoning package, we stop at theEcouges 2 parking lot.

Before entering the canyon, the canyoning guide will give you a briefing on safety and the various obstacles you’ll encounter. He’ll show you how to abseil smoothly, the correct position for the toboggans and the different techniques for the jumps.

And off we go for the canyoning descent!
