Trip description - Canyoning Canyon de la Doria (Bout du Monde)
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Massif des Bauges with a descent of the Canyon de la Doria, one of Savoie’s most spectacular courses. Situated between Chambéry and Aix-les-Bains, this wild canyon offers a concentration of adventure: impressive waterfalls, crystal-clear basins, jumps, natural slides and steep passages.
After an approach walk through the forest, you enter a mineral world sculpted by water. A series of playful obstacles leads up to the highlight of the outing:

Is the Doria canyon suitable for beginners?
Canyon de la Doria is a beginner-intermediate canyon, with a 30-meter long abseil. First experience of canyoning or abseiling is recommended. For a first outing, an easier canyon may be recommended, such as the canyon du Ternèze Boyat.
What is the minimum age for this outing?
The outing is generally accessible to people aged 8 and over, depending on the day’s conditions and the level of the group. Good physical condition is required.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Yes, you need to be able to swim to take part, even though most of the route is abseiling and progressing along the riverbed, and some of the pools are deep.
How long does the canyoning trip at La Doria last?
Allow 3h00 in total, including 2h00 in the canyon, a 25-minute approach hike and a 5-minute return hike.
Are jumps compulsory?
No. All jumps are optional. The guidebook always suggests an alternative abseil or bypass.
How difficult is the big encore?
The 30-metre abseil in the Bout du Monde waterfall is impressive, but very safe. The guide manages the rope and accompanies you step by step. Above all, you need to be comfortable with heights.
