1st Groin canyoning trip (Artemare, Ain) May 14, 2022

Like every year, we’re waiting for the right conditions and for the water level to drop before heading down the magnificent Groin canyon in the Bugey region. It’s one of the closest canyons to Lyon, and its splendid drop gives it a great reputation.

And this year’s season got off to an early start, so we were delighted to hit the canyon for the Groin de Jean-Baptiste EVG outing. The program included a number of more or less successful jumps and plenty of laughs.

The canyon remains splendid, with highly sculpted constrictions, high, technical jumps and remarkable passages such as the famous siphon, which is easy but compulsory. This canyon is suitable for 12-year-olds and over, but the water temperature is still cool, so it’s a great canyon for June or July.
